Today’s marketing thought is about social media posts. I’m wondering why business owners keep making social media harder than it needs to be…?
Like the business owner who remembers to post on Facebook before the close up shop for the day.
Is this you?
- Monday: I should post something.
- Tuesday: I really should post something.
- Wednesday: What should I post?
- Thursday: Ugh, I’ll do it tomorrow.
- Friday: Well, nobody pays attention on Friday anyway.
And there it is. Another week has passed.
That’s not a very good marketing strategy.
OK, there has to be a much easier way to post on social media.
Oh wait, there is!
Batch your social media posts with SocialBee!
Sit down once. Create a bunch of posts. Schedule them. Go run your business.
You Don’t Need 30 Social Media Posts
You don’t have to post every single day.
And you’re not creating a post for every day of the month.
There, does that take away some stress?
There is no social media rule that says you have to post every single day.
For most small businesses, I recommend creating three really interesting posts each week.
Three Posts a Week = 12 Posts a Month
That’s it. All you have to create are 12 really good posts.
Yeah, I know you’re already feeling better.
Pick Four Things You Can Talk About
You don’t need to reinvent your social media strategy every time you open Facebook.
Pick four categories for your business that are important. These should be services you want to be hired for or your most popular products.
Social Media Post Examples:
- Products: Create three posts with photos of your best sellers
- Services: Write three posts about your most sought-after services
- Behind the Scenes: Create three posts featuring staff, the office, or shop
- Community and Local Stuff: Write three posts about events you sponsor or business partnerships
Four Categories + Three Posts Each = 12 Posts
Boom. Now you’re a practical marketing genius!
Your Phone Is a Content Gold Mine
Stop using anonymous stock photos of happy people in a fake office.
Look at your phone. You probably already have pictures of your business.
If not, take some!
All of your social media posts should be of your products, projects you’ve completed, staff and owners, loyal customers, the inside of your shop, and photos of a beautiful northern Michigan scene.
You should probably include your dog or cat, too.
Choose photos or take some photos that match up with your 12 social media posts.
Save Time and Write Everything at Once
The best time saver is to sit down and write your captions all at once.
Don’t write one today, another one sometime next week, and then forget about the rest because you got distracted.
Switch your brain to social media mode and write everything all at once.
And your social media posts should be less salesy and more friendly.
Share something useful that has always interested loyal customers.
Tell an interesting story about your business that no one might know.
Most importantly, be human. Write like you’re talking to your friend.
Let SocialBee Take Over the Scheduling
Like I said, there has to be a better way, and there is.
This is where an affordable scheduling tool like SocialBee makes your like so much easier.
I highly recommend SocialBee because it lets small business owners create, organize, and schedule their social media posts ahead of time.
- Manage multiple social accounts from one place.
- Schedule your content way ahead.
- Organize your posts into categories.
- Recycle evergreen posts that are still useful.
SocialBee has AI tools for when your brain is blank and says, “Nope. I got nothing.”

While AI is great for helping you brainstorm, you need to edit content before posting so captions are in your voice.
If your plumbing company suddenly posts about “elevating your authentic home maintenance journey” I will know that AI wrote that and not you.
Schedule Social Media Posts and Get Back to Business
Once you’ve written your 12 posts, just load them into SocialBee for scheduling throughout the month.
Easy peasy, this month’s social media is handled.
When things pop up in real time, you should still share spontaneous posts. Share things when they happen!
Using a tool like SocialBee prevents social media management from becoming another annoying little task you might just forget about.
SocialBee Makes Sense for Seasonal Businesses
Here in northern Michigan, business doesn’t exactly move at the same speed twelve months a year.
There’s the crazy season, the sort-of crazy season, and the time to breathe again season.
SocialBee lets you use the quieter times to prepare for the busier ones.
And, when things are nuts, you’ve already scheduled your social media posts so your marketing keeps humming along.
Scheduling in advance lets you focus on running your business, helping customers, answering phones, and filling orders.
And wondering where all these people came from…
They might have seen your fabulous social media posts and had to come check you out!
No Need to Pay an Agency Hundreds a Month
Don’t get me wrong. There are businesses that will always benefit from hiring professional social media managers.
However, not every small business needs one.
And not every small business can afford one.
Maybe all you need is a system that makes posting easier.
That’s why I like the idea of SocialBee for businesses with smaller marketing budget, especially during slower seasons.
And you don’t have to rely on motivation. You can rely on the SocialBee system.
✔ Schedule posts ahead of time
✔ Customize captions per platform

Then go do something more important like running your business.
